The Last Chain, and The One Ring
Vue
December 2006

I did these a long time ago (2001?) back when I really didn't know much about computers or 3D.

I had played around with Vue De'Sprit (spl?) and created a bunch of landscapes, all of which did not survive the 'Great Crash' of '02. These only survived because I put them on disc.

Anyway, I was disappointed that Vue didn't come with more models because I wanted to make pictures that told stories and that was hard to do with landscapes alone.

In The Last Chain I had a vision of something huge and ancient being attached to gigantic chains. I used a bunch of Torus (torusi?), a bunch of spheres, and a few squares.

I found the One-Ring model online and can't be credited with its creation. I wanted to show the beautiful ring, lost and forgotten in the mud. The 'mud' itself is actually a super-high-res mountain with a brown texture, but due to the scale of the plants and ring it completes the illusion. The water is way too mirror-like, I think -- but this was one of my first few attempts at 3D.
